I'm a hop-head.
I like the I.P.A.s, i like the strong beers known for the rich character and raised alcohol content. Fruity, sometimes citrus-tasting and strong. Yes, then their is that.
Sam Adams beer is one of the mainstays in our stores; we pick a few to have on a regular basis, buy the seasonal as they come out about a case at-a-time. When an opportunity came around to try something new, obviously the word "Pils" caught my attention. Anything that sounds like Pilsner can't be all that bad. Any beer is worth trying after all, sometimes twice.
Sam's website has the following to say about their beer:
"Samuel Adams® Noble Pils is brewed with all 5 Noble hops for a distinct hop character and fresh taste. Deep golden in color with a citrus-hop aroma, Samuel Adams Noble Pils is a traditional Bohemian Pilsner. The honeyed malt character from traditional Bohemian malt is balanced by delicate yet pronounced citrus, floral, and piney notes from the Noble hops. The winner of our 2009 Beer Lover’s Choice® election, this beer was chosen by over 67,000 drinkers for its crisp complexity and refreshing taste."
I can agree with the citrus. This stuff is really drinkable, in the fact that it's light, even-bodied but sturdy enough to present a good flavor. I'm not sure if this beer reminds me of a traditional Bohemian Pilsner, but it's good, i know that. Do yourself a favor, grab a six pack of the Noble Pils, try it out, let me know what you think. Hell, it's only 8.49, and for that you would have to agree is a small price to pay for a six pack of happiness.
